James and Lisa
We are Lisa, James and Abagael (17), and we are so thankful for your consideration of our family while you are thinking about adoption.
Our family is small but mighty. The three of us can move mountains with our love and comedic antics. We cannot wait to add another member to the family. One of the most important things we do as a family, is unplug for dinner. In the evening, you will find us sitting around the dinner table talking about our day. Even if it is just pizza or fast food, we make an effort to disconnect from the world and connect as a family. As a family, we also love to travel, whether it is going down to Orlando or visiting the ruins of Tulum, we make sure to travel and enjoy the beauty of the world.
We live in a safe, diverse area with great schools and a park just up the street. We have two crazy cats and an adorable Labrador. We are also fortunate to be close to our extended family and friends. They are all very excited for us to complete our family.
Lisa graduated with a master’s degree in special education. She is currently a high school special education teacher and loves what she does. When she is not at school she fully disconnects from her job and enjoys cooking, gardening, and writing.
James worked his way up through a skilled trade and has an associate’s degree in management. He is currently a manufacturing manager. James enjoys video games, reading and listening to music. Abbey is a senior in high school, who we lovingly co-parent with her mother and stepfather. She is our pride and joy. She is still currently applying for college and is considering a few career options. Whatever she ends up doing, we will be supportive and proud. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, writing and creating graphic art.
Lisa and James have been friends since 2009. Over the years, we developed a lasting bond that turned into love in 2013. We were married on July 8, 2017 surrounded by our families and friends. We knew we wanted to start a family right away and after many treatments we were overjoyed to be expecting a little one in 2020. Unfortunately, we lost that pregnancy. While we were devastated by our loss, we became stronger as a couple and our focus changed. Adoption has always been on our hearts. Our desire to have a baby through adoption has never been stronger.
We want to say thank you for your consideration again, and please know we are open to whatever contact you are comfortable with. We will honor you and your choice as we raise our child and will be forever grateful for your decision to choose us and choose adoption. You are in our hearts.
